Kevin Lopez was born in Los Angeles, California. However, his parents moved with him to El Salvador, where he was raised. He graduated first in his class from Colegio Bilingüe Roosevelt [Roosevent Bilingual School] in San Salvador, El Salvador, in 2010. He attended to Santa Monica College, in Santa Monica, California, from 2011 to 2012. Afterwards, he transferred to the University of Southern California (USC), where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in Chemistry in 2015. Later, he earned a master's degree in Molecular Genetics and Biochemistry from USC.
Under the leadership of Dr. Joseph Landolph, Ph.D, Kevin has studied the intracelular reduction of chromium(VI) compounds in order to understand how chromium compounds induce carcinogenesis in humans.
Kevin is not only committed to scientific research, but teaching too. He has served as math tutor at Santa Monica College's Math Lab, where he has taught algebra, pre-calculus, and calculus.
