A former education program director and naturalist at a non-profit educational farm, a director of a children's nature camp, a president of a nature preserve, an experienced biologist with a love for research, an avid writer and history buff - my diverse experience helps me to tutor effectively and work with most disciplines. My goal is to decrease stress for students and families alike by helping students excel in their classes through advanced study skills and close review of assignments and classwork. I hold a B.S. in Biology and have taught, tutored, and run experiential learning programs throughout the past 23 years. I can tutor at the dining room table, out on a hiking path, or online. I aim to enhance a student's learning experience, and create momentum and motivation to understand the subject at hand. I specialize in sciences, geography, history, reading, comprehension, and writing, as well as math, elementary Spanish, and literature. I help extensively with study skills, note-taking, presentations, essays and research papers- reviewing, editing, and formatting. I also tutor for higher standardized tests scores, homeschool programs, and most online curriculums. I believe a proper education is the key to a happy person and healthy community. My love for learning allows me to help you or your student with enthusiasm and positive energy. I follow-up with every major assignment and/or test to stay on track throughout the quarter, semester, or project cycle.
