I have over 7 years of experience with tutoring diverse subjects, with a focus on STEM (science, technology, engineering and math). In college, I worked as a tutor for an on-campus learning center for 3 years, helping my peers succeed in subjects such as biology, math, physics, and even preliminary programming and engineering courses. In addition, I acted as a TA for a freshmen-level MATLAB programming course my sophomore year. As a TA, I worked directly with students to help them solve problems as they coded. In addition, I spent a summer teaching high school students biology and and basic laboratory technique as part of my alma-mater's summer outreach program. I have also taught a small discussion section at Yale for a fundamentals of biology course. Outside of STEM fields, I also have experience editing written documents, as well as tutoring elementary school reading and grammar. I enjoy teaching because I love to help people learn. I understand that everyone learns in different ways, so I try to teach using multiple approaches. I believe that with persistence and care, anyone can succeed. With that in mind, whether you or your child needs just one session to brush up or several recurring sessions to master a subject, I am willing to help.
